The Rev0luti0n and the Power of Imagination

What is a Revolution?

I think for most people the idea of revolution is one of war and violence when we look back on history and think the French Revolution, the American Revolution, Haitian Revolution etc. By definition a revolution is : a forcible overthrow of a government or social order, in favor of new systems.

Revolution by definition is also: a dramatic and wide-reaching change in the way something works or is organized or in people’s ideas about it.

Think the Industrial Revolution or the Age of Enlightenment.

The word itself stems from the Latin word revolvere which means to roll back on or turn around on. I find this fascinating because I believe our timeline is cyclical like a spiral vs linear. We are always reencountering themes, lessons, challenges in our lives and we either pass and recognize our growth, or we repeat the cycle until we learn.

All of these major shifts I just listed happened approximately 240 years ago. This carries significance because this marks the last time the planet Pluto was in the sign of Aquarius, which quite literally means we are returning to a theme that defines major changes for human society.

If we jump back to the time or return of Pluto in Aquarius before last, approximately 500 years ago, we can see The Reformation, The Renaissance, Global Exploration and the beginning of a new major paradigm shift, the printing press.

Now regardless if you care to tap into the planetary involvement of our Earthly human nature, I think it is safe to say that we can all feel major shifts and waves of change happening in real time all around us.

I am proposing that the return to an age of change - or Revolution is on our doorstep and that through harnessing our imagination and taking personal responsibility, we can actively shape what the outcome will be.

Revolution as a Natural Cycle

Just as the natural world cycles through rhythms, the seasons, the moon cycle, revolving and spinning around the sun, waves crashing and receding, volcanoes purging, fault lines clashing, wild fires purifying, floods cleansing etc, so do the natural rhythms of the human collective. As you can see some of the rhythms are predictable and feel “safe”, others feel catastrophic, yet we know they’re inevitable.

I think deep in our bones we all know we’ve come here at this exact moment in time to be witness to and participate in some of the greatest changes humankind will ever experience.

The Unprecedented Speed of Change

Paradigm shifts or great changes in the past have taken centuries to show the outcomes - think agriculture and shifting from hunter gathering societies to that of cities, or the printing press and moving from scribes hand writing books to mass produced works of literature for a much wider audience. These shifts took a long time to see and feel the ripple effect, it was not something that happened over night or even in one generation.

Today however we are in the midst of one of the greatest paradigm shifts humanity has ever seen (that we know of - my mind jumps to the mysteries of the pyramids). In our lifetimes (millennial here) we’ve witnessed the birth of dial up internet to high speed and social media and now widespread use of AI that is still in it’s infancy yet already stirring major changes that we know are coming, and fast.

The changes are rushing in and we are already experiencing outcomes that we’re still not entirely certain the depth of the consequences, yet are feeling them nonetheless - access to information while simultaneous navigating censorship, real time connection across the globe, addiction to screens, anxiety and depression from overuse of social media, isolation etc.

All of that to say, this time, this moment in our lives is one of incredible change and it’s happening at lightning speed. Consequentially this means all of our lives are rapidly changing and going to continue to change as a result, like it or not. So the question is :

How do you WANT it to change?

I think most people believe this is a force completely out of their control. I can see and hear people feeling disempowered, scared, anxious, depressed, but I’d like to challenge this and offer a perspective that says these changes are a part of you, that this shift is because of you. We are no more separate from the shifts occurring in our society than a drop of water is from the ocean. The question is, are you aware of you influence or not?

It is my belief that one of the most important things we will see (that I want to see) is a restoration and remembering of our power and interconnectedness to all that is. Our involvement with the outer moving pieces, or at least influence on them, is possible by focusing on restoring and remembering the power we have over our inner and personal worlds.

Taking this idea into your very being, I want you to ask yourself some questions.

  • Where are the missing pieces you see in our society?

  • How do we collectively define meaningful lives?

  • WHAT do you CARE about?

NOW is our time to focus on these pieces of a moving puzzle that are rapidly rearranging themselves before our very eyes. In a few more blinks, the world as we know it will no longer be, ready or not, here it comes.

So where do we begin?

It begins with our imagination. In order to move towards something, we must first create this image or concept within our minds. Once the vision is clear enough - because there may be unclear aspects like “how” (how is not your job, but we’ll touch on that later), begin by living as if that future dream is already in existence.

  • Do you want a world with harmony? Begin creating an inner world of harmony and make whatever changes necessary within your capacity to have harmony in your daily life.

  • Do you want a world with understanding? Listen to the stories and ideas of others you do not understand or agree with. Discover understanding. No one is separate from you. We are merely different expressions of the same source. Instead of forcing understanding onto others, live your truth without expectations. BE the change, if it is change you wish to see.

  • Do you want a world with balance and well-being? Prioritize balance and your health for overall well-being.

  • Do you want a world with peace? Create an inner sanctuary of peace within your mind.

There can be no changes in the outer world if we are not willing to do the work necessary to change ourselves from within.

One of the major themes I continuously witness, which I believe demonstrates our lack of overall maturity and development as grown adults, is the concept that in order to see change in the world, THEY need to change.

It is my belief that the greatest change that needs to occur before we expect to see any outward results, is a major shift within ourselves. We need to recognize our power as individuals and the ripple effect we have on the collective.

Have you heard this before : “thoughts becomes things” ?

It’s true. Nothing has ever happened without it being a thought first. We are what we think more than anything else.

Take into consideration for a moment that everything we accept as normal, or the way it is, was once an idea. There was perhaps a time where the majority decided together that they agreed to live within the confines of that idea, or they were forced into it - which is what we see in most of our history.

Now take into consideration that you have the power to envision a different normal, a different way that it is.

We either accept the imagination of others to define what is meaningful and important and thus how we live our lives, or we create our own standards by which to live.

The reason ‘things are they way they are’ is because it is what we have come to accept. Or, we take the stance that we are powerless to change it, and are forced into it. This I will not accept.

How to start transforming our inner world?

To remember our innate power as creators, we must first bring the unconscious to light.

Those unconscious thoughts we suppress don't simply disappear—they surface in our dreams or erupt as "adult temper tantrums" when we're triggered. This happens when we haven't done the necessary work to acknowledge our shadow side—aspects of ourselves that we've collectively been taught to ignore or label and blame as "evil," as if that is a force that is separate from us. The evidence of this collective denial is visible everywhere: war, genocide, hatred, abuse and fear directed at those who dare question our fundamental assumptions about reality.

My desire for this new world we are walking into is one where we radically reclaim responsibility for our participation in the world we live in.

It’s so easy to point fingers and place blame on our neighbors before we take the time to look in the mirror and clean up our interior first. Whatever they are doing ‘wrong’, I promise you, it is alive and exists within you too. This is why it triggers you so much.

I used to reject this notion myself, but you cannot unsee and unhear things. Over time the truth of this has become evident and every time I feel quick to judge another or want to lash out, I do my very best (I’m not perfect and still learning here) to control my tongue and take the time necessary to see why this is bothering me.

Even if the other person is being abusive or acting in a way that is harmful to others, this gives me the time to see the human being in front of me who is likely suffering or in pain. Maybe they are unaware, maybe they don’t care. Each situation will prove to be unique and it is through practice that we can decide to protect ourselves and walk away, or demand accountability.

The point I want to drive in is that we all have hurt others. Whether it be through physical force or the whip of our tongues, I don’t know anyone who hasn’t been the culprit of inflicting pain on another.

This repressed shadow exists within us all.

Radical responsibility asks that we hold the hand of these shadow elements within ourselves and take the time to ask, what do you need? It is only through doing this work that we will be able to bring the shadows into the light, heal ourselves and heal as a collective.

I do not think this work ever ends. I think accepting that we will always have room for improvement is part of the healing that needs to happen, as well as forgiving those who, like you, have hurt others.

The Outer World

As we transform our inner worlds and reclaim power over our own lives, the outer world naturally begins to shift. This transformation starts with your personal life—your relationship to yourself, your daily habits, and your connections with others. To extend beyond these immediate circles and create ripples that move outward—from self to close relationships to career, neighborhood, community, city, country, and planet—you'll need to share your ideas with others. The concentric circles of influence expand only when we voice our visions and invite others into this transformative work.

This post is an example of how we can share ideas. You can have dinner with friends, invite others to join you for a book club, or a hike or whatever hobbies or interests bring you a sense of community.

  • Ask yourself - if I could rewrite ‘the way things are’, what modifications would I make to the world and why?

  • What matters to me and what brings me joy?

  • Ask someone you trust this same question and share your ideas in exchange

Remembering our Power

We have been led to believe that we need someone to tell us how to learn, how to think, how to live a healthy life, how to have a connection to the source of all that is. All of this wisdom exists within us already. It has been lost to us because we have accepted the story line and narrative of those who know of and hold this power.

I know you know of your power, and I also know remembering it can be a process because there was a time when I forgot about my own - and to be honest it is continuous work to remember. I write this for myself just as much as I write it for anyone else.

My call to action is to redefine through your imaginative process what a just and harmonious world looks like to you and begin to live it. Reclaim your power through this very act of creation starting with your thoughts.

Here are some more questions to dive a bit deeper:

  1. Begin to ask yourself, what do I want the world to look like?

  2. What does a healthy relationship to myself, my friends and family and the planet look like?

  3. What does my body need in order to thrive?

  4. Where have I been led astray from my personal power?

  5. What tiny actions can I take immediately to begin rebuilding my inner power and inner wisdom?

  6. What sensations do I feel in my body when I feel like a creator? What sensations in my body do I feel when someone else is creating my life for me?

  7. Where am I most connected to the world I live in? How am I most disconnected?

  8. Do I have a relationship to the natural world? The Lunar cycle, the seasons?

  9. Where do I find myself most criticizing others? What do I need to work on inside myself to reach my greatest potential?

In Conclusion

It is my belief that we are in unprecedented times, while simultaneously revolving to a familiar theme in our history - that of revolution.

War and genocide continue despite a deep knowing that we can elevate above such low frequencies by bringing our personal shadows into the light.

It is my vision that we escape further violence in the face of these great changes happening before our eyes through the awakening of the collective to our innate power as creators of this shared reality.

I believe through restoration of individual power, acknowledgement of our shadows and sharing of our dreams with others that is possible to transform and create a new world - a better ‘way that things are’.

I envision a world that sees the humanity in each individual, a society that measures success by how harmoniously we live amongst our brothers, sisters and all living beings, where humans remember their interconnectedness to all that is.

Thank you for taking the time to read my dreams and visions. I would love to hear yours if you feel inspired to share, send them to me, but more importantly define them for yourself.

If you liked this, consider sharing it with others.

May we see beautiful changes ahead.
